Fivay High School’s Fire Science Academy offers students a hands-on, career-focused education in firefighting and emergency response. Using professional-grade equipment and guided by industry standards from the Essentials of Firefighting, 7th Edition, students develop real-world skills through classroom instruction, practical training, and internship opportunities with Pasco County Fire Rescue. Applicants should be motivated, team-oriented, and ready to meet high expectations in physical fitness, academic performance, and personal responsibility. Graduates are prepared to pursue Firefighter I certification and careers in public safety. This program is ideal for students passionate about service, leadership, and making a difference in their community.
**Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and a current Athletic Clearance (EL2, EL3) physical on file within 30 days of the beginning of the school year.**
