Shorts/Jeans Week April 10-14th for Massaro/Kunick/Fenton Senior Scholarship

Our Falcon Family had two tragic events our first two years open here at FHS, two beloved staff members passed away at very young ages, a loss that effected many both staff and students greatly. As a school we decided to honor both teachers with two scholarships in the name of each teacher. We added the third scholarship with the tragic passing of longtime Falcon staff member Joanne Fenton. The Flo Massaro, Justin Kunick and Joann Fenton scholarships go each to seniors that exemplify the qualities that each of these staff members brought to FHS and to life. Attached are some pictures of each of them and the scholarship tree when Flo’s mother Sally came to visit the memorial.
During the week of April 10-14th, we will be doing a shorts/jeans week fundraising drive to fund scholarships so we can continue this tradition of honoring these three extraordinary staff members and rewarding three seniors in their memory. The donation will be $5 for the entire week but feel free to donate any amount over that if you feel moved to help more. Also, the next time you are in Building 1 commons area, take a minute and look at the Massaro/Kunick/Fenton Scholarship Tree and jersey that lists all the past senior scholarship winners and the scholarship name plaques that staff chose words to express what these teachers stood for and are carved into former real trees in the shape of hearts. It is located next to the glass trophy case.
