TITUSVILLE: Thirteen athletes from the Fivay Track & Field team traveled to Astronaut High School to compete in the Class 2A-Region 3 Meet.
The Girls Team competed in the High Jump (Amber Malas and Ashley St. Louis), 300m Hurdles (Rachael Bradley) and the 4X100m Relay (Bradley, Malas, Sarah Bernstein and Taylor White). Bradley finished 14th in the 300m Hurdle Preliminary Heat, St. Louis and Malas finished 9th and 10th in the High Jump and the 4x100m Relay team finished 13th in the 4x100m Relay Preliminary heat.
The Boys Team competed in the High Jump (James Bullock and Cameron Coleman), 100m Dash (Kyrie Rodriguez), Long Jump (Rodriguez), the 4x800m Relay (Tyler LIsnock, Zach Daniels, Kenny Walker, and Alex Mancini) and the 4x100m Relay (Bullock, Coleman, Rodriguez, and Willis Reeves).
The 4x800m Relay team placed 8th, earning 1 team point. Rodriguez placed 6th in the Long Jump, earning 3 team points. James Bullock placed 3rd in the High Jump, earning 6 team points.
Coleman ended up placing tied for 12th in the High Jump, Rodriguez finished 14th in the 100m Preliminary heats, and the 4x100m team finished 14th in the preliminary heats.
Bullock, by placing in the top 4 of his event, qualified to participate in the FHSAA Class 2A State Meet on Saturday, April 28th at the University of North Florida.
Bullock becomes the first Fivay Track & Field Athlete to qualify for the State Meet.
