During this summer’s Student Leadership camp, our Leadership team was tasked with creating a set of goals for our band. Here is what they came up with:

There will be a band parent meeting on Friday, August 12th at 5:00 p.m. Parents who attend this meeting will receive a folder which contains:

This Thursday, May 12, 2011, will be the Fivay High School Music Department’s Spring Concert. It will take place in the Fivay High School Cafeteria, and will begin at 7:00 p.m.. The concert should last about an hour, and is free! This concert will feature the Jazz Ensemble, Chorus, and Symphonic Band. Music is to be selected from:

Into the Storm
Here are some of the photos from the Jazz Ensemble’s trip to the Lakeside Jazz Festival. This event took place in Port Orange, FL on April 16, 2011.
While at the festival we were fortunate enough to see the jazz ensembles from the University of North Florida, Spruce Creek High School, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, and the Navy Band Southeast’s TGIF.
This Saturday, April 16th, the Fivay High School Jazz Ensemble will be traveling to Port Orange, FL/Daytona Beach, FL to perform at the Lakeside Jazz Festival. While there, we will have the opportunity to listen to some of the best high school jazz programs in the state as well as listening to some of the best college/university jazz programs in the state. The Pasco All-County Jazz Band, is made up of a small group of individuals who dedicate themselves to the art of Jazz. This group is patterned in the classic Big-Band style, from the 1930′s and 40′s. This group is typically made up of 20 students, from all across Pasco County. It is truly an honor to make it into this ensemble. Read more
On Monday, March 7, 2011, we will be taking some students to Bayonet Point Middle School to perform for their school. We will be taking the Jazz Ensemble, Drumline and Winterguard. Students will be missing their a portion of their 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th period classes. We will be doing 4-5 performances, during their different lunch periods. They will be excused from their classes, and will be allowed to make up their work.
