Lakeside Jazz Festival Photos
Here are some of the photos from the Jazz Ensemble’s trip to the Lakeside Jazz Festival. This event took place in Port Orange, FL on April 16, 2011.
While at the festival we were fortunate enough to see the jazz ensembles from the University of North Florida, Spruce Creek High School, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, and the Navy Band Southeast’s TGIF.

Here are some of the photos from the Fivay Kickball Classic. This event took place at Fivay High School on April 9, 2011.
USF’s 4th Annual “HOT Day”
The University of South Florida’s “HOT Day” will be taking place on Saturday, September 10, 2011. Students who participate in “HOT Day” will rehearse with the USF Herd of Thunder Marching Band, watch the USF vs. Ball State, and perform with the USF Herd of Thunder Marching Band and 1,000 other high school students from across the state!
The price to participate will be $30.00-$40.00 per person. We’ll determine the actual price in the next few weeks. This price will include:
- Ticket for USF vs. Ball State
- “HOT Day” T-shirt
- Lunch
- Transportation to and from “HOT Day”
If you are planning to participate in this event we need your trip money by August 22, 2011 (the first day of school). You can pay it anytime during the summer, or during next year’s band camp. We are getting this information out early, because participation is on a first come, first serve basis. Once the 1,000 tickets are out, they are out.
2011-2012 Halftime Show Music
This is the music we are planning on using for the 2011-2012 Halftime Show. We’ve posted it here for you to listen to, as well as for our Drum Major hopefuls to practice with. We will be distributing music to students on Monday, May 16, 2011. There will be an evening rehearsal with the students of Bayonet Point Middle School and Hudson Middle School to read through this show music, some stands music, and the fight song and alma mater.

All-County Jazz
The Pasco All-County Jazz Bands will be performing at the Center for the Arts at Wesley Chapel. This concert features the Middle School All-County Jazz Band, High School All-County Jazz Band, and the Dan McMillion Jazz Orchestra. The Dan McMillion Jazz Orchestra is a grammy award nominated band, that is based out of the greater Tampa Bay area. The concert begins at 6:00 p.m. and has free admission!

Lakeside Festival Schedule
This Saturday, April 16th, the Fivay High School Jazz Ensemble will be traveling to Port Orange, FL/Daytona Beach, FL to perform at the Lakeside Jazz Festival. While there, we will have the opportunity to listen to some of the best high school jazz programs in the state as well as listening to some of the best college/university jazz programs in the state. Fivay Kickball Classic
Tomorrow, will be the Fivay Kickball Classic! The Fivay Kickball Classic started as challenge to the middle school students of Bayonet Point Middle School and Hudson Middle School. The winner of this epic High School vs. Middle School showdown will receive the coveted Golden Kickball! In addition to a fun and enjoyable game of kickball, we will be holding a cook-out for lunch.
